IT Spending Forecasts Take a Hit as Coronavirus Slams Global Markets.

IDC ( International Data Corp) said annual growth in global IT spending this year might drop to 1% in 2020 from an initial forecast of more than 4%. In the worst-case scenario, the total is expected to be roughly $2.3 trillion, down from an earlier estimate of $2.5 trillion.

Gartner Inc. expects an increase in spending on software and hardware related to workplace communications and collaboration technology to boost growth in annual spending on these tools to 2.5%, up from an initial forecast of 2%
